There are so many template resources!
Having decided to build your own website using a template, you’ve probably typed “website templates” or something similar into a search engine and discovered that there are so many template resources out there – where to start choosing a website template?
The first thing to do is to decide if you want a template aimed at a particular industry – do you want a real estate agent (realtor) template, a medical (doctor or dentist maybe?) template, a church template, a photography template, a fun kids-style template or maybe just a general business template?
Many online template stores have templates aimed at just these categories – and many, many more. However, there’s more to consider than just the quantity of templates available at a particular store.
Separating the wheat from the chaff
You need to pay attention to who runs the online store – is it managed by the company who actually creates the templates, or is it simply a repository of “affiliate links” to another template store? If you purchase from this store, will the original designer be available to answer your questions and solve any problems?
What is the size / scope of the template? Does it contain a number of sample pages – for example, a products page, a services page, for a real estate website maybe a listings page? Or is it only one page, which you must then modify yourself to support all the internal pages of your website?
These are important questions, and highlight two of the main reasons why consumers might not succeed at using a website template. However, if you choose a template that is multi-page, and supported directly by the template designer, you will avoid these problems.
Different website template designs are available for many different industries and applications.
An online template store that is managed by the template developer herself, and prides itself on support is: Website Template Shop. All Premium Templates consist of multiple sample pages, and are original designs.
